UNFPA E-Courses on Procurement and Supply Chain
UNFPA has developed three e-courses in Procurement and Supply Chain related subjects with a focus on Reproductive Health supplies. The courses are offered to partners in Governments, NGOs and institutions, as well as UN staff. Courses are accessible at any time, at no cost and provide training that is flexible to learner’s availability.
The courses available are the following:
- Introduction to Procurement, which explains the key steps and principles to be applied when procuring goods and services. Available in: Arabic, English, French, Mongolian, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish.
- Ethics in Procurement, in 2 main sessions, it addresses general ethical issues and in session 2 focuses on the role of ethics in specific stages of the procurement process. This session helps to understand the differences between policies and procedures and their impact at the ethical level. Available in: English, French, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish
- Quality Assurance of Medicines provides a better understanding of the general policy and legislative framework and processes that apply at a country and at an international level. The processes provide guidance that must be followed in order to assure that a medicine complies with the quality, safety and efficacy of international standards needed to serve its purpose within the health programs. Available in English, French and Spanish.
Planned for 2016! The team is in the process of developing other e-courses, such as: WHO’s Good Governance for Medicines and Distribution.
